"Sookie Stackhouse" Books
These days off have given me lots of time to get caught up on things here at my house, but ALSO lots of time to read.
The newest addiction is the Sookie Stackhouse series... a delightful set of fast-paced, witty novels (the HBO show TrueBlood is loosely based on the series - books are way better).
Yes, vampire fiction seems to be the hot ticket lately with the whole "Twilight" thing. But I thought Twilight majorly sucked compared to these books. Namely, because Stephanie Meyer is a far inferior writer to Charlaine Harris. Where Harris' books are direct, creative, and snappy, Meyer's style drags. I left the teen angst in high school and don't want to revisit it in an unnecessary 400 pages, Stephanie.
The first 7 books of the Sookie Stackhouse series are available as a box set on Amazon for about $35 and they are WELL worth it.

Welcome back!! I'm very disappointed with the turn of events on True Blood as of late. this week in particular. I'm no prude but "holly crap" this weeks episode was very sexy and intense. I love the books! Alan Ball is screwing with the story too much for my taste! Can't wait to see you in October!
